Day 1

First day of work I was definately unprepared but I had a lot of fun. I wasnt able to get in contact with my mentor about what attire I should wear for the first day of work, so I came in a professional dress and heels. Big mistake! I had no idea that I would be working with kids all day. I was not able to experience all that was in store for me. I was placed in the wetlab where the center does a small simple experiment on the quality of water in one of the ponds at they own. The children get to explore the creaturs from the pond and they are all so excited. I stayed in the wetlab the whole day which wasn't too bad. I had fun playing with the kids. The Trinity River Audubon Center is place where children from different school or summer programs come everyday to learn about the history of the Trinity River and how the Center restored everything from a dump to an all natural forest. After the wetlab I helped another intern, who was also doing her senior internship there, make more booklets for the next group of kids tomorrow.
