Day 3

Today was one of the best days that I have had so far. Since there was such a large group of kids every teacher needed and assistant for their group of kids. So today I got to go on a hike. They hike was amazing. There is so much to see and explore. The birds were flying everywhere, many different types of plants to see. In the hour long we took the kids to see the Triniy River. They saw how dirty it was and we proceeded to tell them that people used to pay to dump trash here and thats why it is so dirty. It took 3 years for the Audubon Center to clean up the area and turn it into what it is now. Also during the hike we taught the children about different types of animals and they got to touch a box turtle which was very exciting for them. The center also has and exhibtion hall that demonstrates how rivers are made and abother demonstration shows how the trinity river floods and where it floods. After the day was over and all the kids were gone I fed the box turtle, snake, lizards and tarantula crickets that I picked up with my own hand. After i fed the animals the other intern and I were told to trim down all the poison ivy that was sticking out and growing onto the pathway.
